The Story

Quantity/Pack: 2.5 Pounds (about 13 Ounces each color)
Seasonality: Year Round
Origin: USA

This variety pack of Red, Gold and White Pearl onions offers a choice of onion flavors in one convenient clamshell.

Gold Pearls are the most aromatic and pungent of the three, best for cooking whole. The White pearl has a much milder flavor that supports without overpowering a dish. Red Pearls are mildly sweet, so great raw in a salad. Cooking an onion diminishes its flavor, but increases the flavor of the foods around it.

Pearl onions are easily peeled; drop in boiling water for 3 minutes, transfer quickly to an ice-water bath, drain, trim the root end off and, with a gentle squeeze, pop the outer layer of the onion right off.
